So my dumbarse but ever so loveable nephew came home yesterday w/ a HORRIBLE tattoo going from his shoulder down to his elbow. He had it done Wednesday & didn't tell his mom until yesterday. She said it is hideous. Really bad job, supposed to be some sort of tribal tat but she said it just looks awful. It's not finished, but some of the outlines of it are really thick. Has a bunch of circles - which I've never seen in a tribal tattoo. Sort of looks like an octopus got ahold of his arm. lol
Has anyone used the wrecking balm stuff? How was it, did it work? My sister (his mom) put some stuff on it that she uses for chemical peels at her spa & that faded it quite a bit immediately, but it shouldn't be used repeatedly.
That boy has been making the worst decisions this past year.

Since it's a fresh tattoo it *MIGHT* work. I haven't met or read anything from anyone it really worked though but most of those people are trying to remove older tattoos. Don't wait to try but keep in mind he may end up needing a much bigger cover up especially because it's so big to begin with.

He won't get another tattoo. If anything, my sister will get him laser removal. But she'd rather try something less damaging. Ugh, I can't believe he did this. Dumbarse! smh He paid $50 for it, yeah.... it looks like a $50 tattoo. smh He wouldn't come inside the house yesterday when he got home from school. He stood at the door asking his mom "Do you love me unconditionally? Promise you'll still love me when you see what I did?". His mom was worried he'd gotten some girl pregnant at that point, so at least it wasn't that. lol I just can't believe he did that to his body. Moron should have just gotten a tribal arm band or something. He's got gorgeous olive toned skin; got it from my dad. He's the one on the left.

dbal talked about the laser removal and if I remember correctly her tattoo was pretty small. From what I read from her I don't think it would do too much to a tattoo like that.

I don't think the wrecking balm will work very well, but it's worth a try to get started. Then he'll have to lazer it too. Lazering is really expensive, hurts really bad, and takes a lot of treatments

Sounds like the laser removal would bs the only way to go about it. It sounds big and mainly black ink, right?
Can he go to a better artist an have them fix it? Or does he/your sister just not want him to have it at all?

lol, this reminds me...my dad has an awesome tattoo of a Tiki god on his left leg. He's going this weekend to Reliant Stadium and the Tattoo Expo and getting a Tiki Godess on his right leg. I asked him if she would be wearing a coconut bra and he said "no, if she's wearing a bra then noone can see her boobies." My dad is almost 70!!! *hanging head in shame!*

Nothing works like the commercials and ad's tell you. They fade them but never to the point you can't see them. I had a tattoo I regretted getting, and wanted to remove. I asked my new artist and he said honestly if you want it gone completely the best route is laser, and he said the shit hurts like bitch. He compared it to when you are cooking bacon and the hot grease gets you a bit. He said that times 10X over a large area. I said FUCK THAT! and just had it covered up with more ink and LOVE IT!! Big pieces are hard to cover but with the right artist it can be done.

Thank you everyone for all the info. She's not going to waste her money on it. It's nothing more than a dermabrasion treatment; which she can do at the spa but with much better equipment & product. She was really worried about our mother seeing it, she's VERY anti-tattoo. Well, she found out, flipped her lid & it gives her something new to fret over. lol We're all kind of anti-tattoo to a point though for varying reasons.
I think she's going to try doing some chemical & glycolic peels & some sort of skin scraping that she does. If that doesn't work then she'll have laser done on him. He doesn't want it covered up; he wants it gone. Idiot. I love that boy, but he is an idiot lately! He'll just have to put up with the pain, which shouldn't be a problem. smh He's into MMA & all that crap. I think he thrives on pain. Honestly, if he makes it to age 25 I will be surprised.
Well, at least I can chalk this up to another learning experience for my daughter. I just told her about the tattoo & she's going off. ROFL "He's such an idiot. How stupid! I'm so glad he doesn't go to my school anymore, I'm embarrassed that he's my cousin. Why does he always do all these stupid things?! See, stop complaining about my boyfriend's hair, that's the only thing wrong w/ him. He could act like Andrew. Ugh, gosh he's so stupid stupid stupid. It's Aunt & Uncles fault, they never punish him. They just "oh stop doing that" and never follow through with anything. Geez, mom. " hahahahaha she's walking to her room STILL rambling on about him. My 15 yr old has turned into a 50 year old maid.

omg. I'd kill my boys. I'm hoping they learn from my mistake. I have 12 tattoos. I'd like all 12 removed. I went for an consult for the lazer removal. Still haven't decided if I want to go through with it. They will each need about 6 treatments. She said the older ones will come out quicker though. :/ gah

Yeah, I think they're about ready to kill him at this point. They have spent so much money on him & aren't done with that yet either. He has done a LOT of things this last year. None of it really "bad" just really stupid stuff, being with the wrong people, in the wrong place, etc and him being the one busted because he's 18. I'm really starting to wonder if some of it isn't because my dad is no longer here. That was his buddy. Andrew seemed to really have no reaction when he passed. But it just dawned on me that all of this started spring of 2010. At least there was no pregnant girl..... yet anyways!
Jodi, how come you want them all removed already? You're young! That's me, I'm afraid I would have a serious buyer's remorse as soon as it was done. I just don't like them - I admire the art, the skill, and think things like the tribal arm bands look great on some nice muscular arms. But I would never/could never do it. lol

Because I was a little butthole and used my sister's ID when I was under age. I started young. Once I had the boys I felt kinda silly having all of these tattoos. Luckily they are all hidden, I just don't like them.
