I remember reading that you can't use MyCAA and FAFSA at the same time but then I went to double check and I can't find anything about it.
Can anyone confirm if that's true or tell me if you have used both?

Isn't FAFSA used for Pell Grants?
I don't see why you wouldn't be able to use both. If MYCAA isn't going to cover the entire cost and you fit within the income guidelines for a Pell Grant, I think you're okay.
I tried googling, but couldn't find anything either. Maybe call the school's financial aid office on Monday?
They may be closed tomorrow.

I read that because they are both federal it's double dipping.

Don't you have to fill out the FAFSA forms anyway to see what you do qualify for?
Cait gets Pell, Fed loans, state grants, school grants and whatever else she can get her hands on now she's an independant.

FAFSA is just an application. It isn't actually any money. You must fill it out for pell, most other things tell you to as well. I don't know if you can use Pell and MyCAA, but filling out a FAFSA won't cause any problems.

I used both in 09-10. I'm hoping I didn't screw it up and will get in trouble later.

The MyCAA is just a supplemental program, nobody can expect 4000.00 to totally cover the cost of a college degree.
Cait is at one of the more reasonable public schools in state and her yearly costs are about 18,000, she's using every federal program and federal, state or school grant she can get!!
I don't see why you couldn't use Pell if you qualify for it. I'd be more inclined to save it for when the MyCAA runs out though.

I called MyCAA. The only way you can use both is if you are using pell to oay for different classes than mycaa.

I filled out my request for financial aid today on MyCAA and this is what it had at the very end.

I was told you weren't allowed. The only thing I was ever offered was loans.
