Zoey needs her anal glands expressed I think - shes getting butt juice on my furniture ... it smells like spoiled milk/mold ... SO stinking gross and I do not love smelling it and cleaning it off microfiber.
*sigh* we were just at the vet yesterday too - she didnt start to smell until we got home ...
gah ...

Do only certain breeds need this done? I have never had this issue with any of my dogs. It's completely foreign to me.

If they don't do it naturally when they poop then they'll get backed up and it can get infected.

well Zoey has been fine - shes 2 years old - never had this problem before but I dont know what else it would be - everything I read online points to needing her anal glands expressed - they are not filled but the small amount of "juice" I am finding leads me to believe she needs it done - our groomer does it as part of basic grooming
Some dogs never need it - we havent - until now
J cant smell it - but I have super senses right now so I can DEFINITELY smell it - doesnt seem to bother her though.
She had a lot of fear yesterday (shes scared of the vet) and apparently that can make it worse so Im thinking - maybe?
