Find a "How to be the grandma that your kids don't hate" book and send that to her. ;D I need to find a book like that too. lol My Mil was telling me how beautiful my oldest daughter is. How she has such great features except for her ears and she pay for the surgery to have them pinned back. Well fuck you grandma. I thought you were supposed to love your grandchildren unconditionally. And yes her ears stick out but not that much. Unless she starts being super self conscious about them later because she's getting picked on, she's perfect just the way she is.

She needs to butt out. I really don't get along with my MIL, we haven't spoken in a long time. Well, except the 1 text she sent after I had R that I didn't respond to. She also lives across the country and is always broke, so I don't have to worry about her visiting anytime soon. She's seen pics of R, but that's it.

That is terrible!
She keeps telling me how wonderful her c section was over the vaginal birth. Um, no! If it was that wonderful why would people push for VBACs? And I'm not going to have my stomach cut open a 3rd time just to please her.
They have NO retirement savings. In fact her husband took a huge penalty and took out the little savings they had to buy a new car ($15k-is, not an expensive car). A year or two later he bought a nice new truck without telling his wife. In January they bought a new house but didn't have the $6000 for the closing costs or whatever they needed it for. They begged us for $6200 and we did only because it was the first time asking and we knew it would look bad if we didn't. But how terrible for parents to ask their children for money. We have not been paid back yet despite claiming he was getting a bonus a few months ago. She was supposed to come out a month ago and she keeps pushing it back. I suspect because she claimed she was bringing a check for us and they really don't have the money. The kicker? He makes over $100,000 a year! And she used to have a decent income and now gets unemployment. They live in Podunk Kansas where their 5 bedroom house in a really nice suburb only costs $1000 a month! They make more than twice as much as us (including BAH) and our cost of living is twice as much as theirs but we are the ones with savings.
The point to that before I got off track was that even though they should have plenty of money, they live paycheckto paycheck but there has been talk of her coming out soon for a few weeks and I'm sure even more so now. Knowing her she will plan on being here for at least 3-4 weeks when the baby comes. It's actually my parents who we adore but can never get them out here.

C sections suck. The recovery sucks. If I had another kid, I would do everything in my power to not have one. Your inlaws sound similar to mine. Yuck.

She wants a scheduled c-section so she can come live, ah I mean visit, while you "recover" for the next 18 years, LOL!
My dad is just grandpa, my mom insists on calling herself Gran.....which we never use.
My mom used to buy headbands for Jules ears because they stuck out, pissed me off and the kid hated those things anyway!

I would tag her with the most hideous grandparent name you can think of!LOL
I had 2 c-sections. I hit the ground running both times.
Everyone is different. If you go into it with the attitude you are going to be in pain, well, then, you're going to be in pain.
I was out of the hospital within 48 hrs both times (my choice). First time, I was running back & forth to the hospital because oldest was in NICU and then had open heart surgery at 3 weeks old.
Second time, my sister was getting married and we had to go gown shopping - I was all over the malls from here to Raleigh a week after having youngest.

I was in pretty bad pain after having Karlie. It hurt to move and I hurt for like 2 weeks. With Kellan I was up and moving like nothing even happened. I had both vaginally.

Pain medication was definitely my friend after my C section. R was up in my ribs, I have no idea if that makes a difference in how long it takes or not. The incision pain was probably the worst the first few days. That and I didn't start using a support belt/girdle right after, I should have, that helped immensely.
My parents are Grandpa and Nene. My mom came up with that one and it's weird.
