I don't get online often anymore-yeah, the withdrawal pains were brutal so I thought I'd check in since I'm near a computer this weekend. Kids are doing well. Ryan is doing homebased Head Start and is working on his speech. Has tubes put in his ears next week. Laynie is finally making friends and I've made one myself! It's much harder for me since we moved. The husband works constantly & hasn't had his first drill weekend yet since his unit is currently deployed. I applied for a state job at Youth Services and did the interview so I should know in the next month or so. I'm hopeful! I'm so ready to go to work! How's everyone been?

lm,
Once your son has his tubes put in, you should see a BIG improvement in his speech.
Oldest didn't speak well at all until the tubes went in. The ENT explained to me, he was hearing like someone was talking underwater. He was hearing things all muffled, so his speech mimicked what he heard.

Yay! Glad you are all are doing so well after all the cruddy stuff that happened!
Moved to Cali, buying a house, preparing for deployment, stressing out and signing 1000 sheets of paper, a good portion of which seem to be duplicates of stuff we already signed.....pffft...... On the flip side the new house is simply awesome and SOLAR powered!
My organic soul is happy.

I miss you too! I love being in Missouri, it feels like home and I do get to see my family a lot more often even though we are still 3 hours away from them, but I miss my friends. It's not like I can just go invite the cashier at the grocery store out for lunch so I've been trying to do library sponsored activities with the kids and every 2 weeks we have to do a home based meeting with the other Head Start families. It took me 4 months, but I finally met someone to hang with. I miss the lunches, outings, and conversations with you guys. I feel so disconnected sometimes since I only check in every few weeks & the library limits computer time to an hour...

I told Jamie I was flying to see you this summer and we were then renting a car and driving to Oregon to see Niki.
