Mine was an LAVH and they left an ovary so the hormonal thing wasn't/isn't really an issue. The first 4-5 days were the worst, the gas they inflated me with was painful. The first time I stood up afterwards, it felt like I couldn't breathe from the gas pressure. I also had a hard time with farting and BMs for about 5 days too, was completely stopped up, so I would suggest getting stool softeners beforehand. I was all about the pain pills they gave me for the first week, stayed in bed most of that time, but was up and about slowly after that. Day 11 or 12 I got an infection and landed back in bed for almost another week. It hurt to bend over or lift the kids for a few weeks so I really took it easy, J had taken 3 weeks of leave. By my 6 week appt I was back to normal. You can call me if you need to.
