Have you ever had one? If so, is it customary to have percocets prescribed for the pain?

No and yes it is. It can be pretty painful. Usually its from having an untreated UTI that just spread upward and UTIs are painful enough. Hope you feel better soon.

I had one before that was real bad and they just gave a week of corny antibiotics. This time they gave 2 weeks of 500 Cipro and percs for pain. I just thought that percs were bad for kidneys because of the acetaminaphin.

Acetaminophen affects your liver. And that's only if you take it long term or exceed the recommended dosage.

The antibiotics can vary depending on the amount and type of bacteria they find.

when i have a UTI, i am always given this tiny little reddish purple pill for pain. i have no idea what it is called, but the pain control targets the bladder, and it makes it look like you are pissing blood.

I had those recently! I had to bleach the toilet every time I peed because it would stain it!

You can pick up the pink pills over the counter. I believe they're called AZO or something like that. That will give you immediate relief from the burning/frequent urination.

You must have some hell of an infection if they gave you 500mg of Cipro.
Cipro is used to treat Anthrax...

Cipro is used to treat a lot of things. I got it when I had a UTI back in December.
