UUUUGGGGHHHHH I freakin hate people.
An old friend of mine had a baby not too long ago. He is starting day care and she said something to the effect that she was shocked that at many daycares they didn't have the lock so you could "walk in and just take any baby you want."
So I mentioned that a lot of places dont have that and I would rather that I could trust the staff enough not to let some random person take my kids than a damn lock on the door.
I said this nicer though but now I'm irritated.
The particular child care center she picked has a repeated issue of not having their background checks done. That's a fucking problem with me. As a parent I would be very concerned about that over the fancy schmancy door doohickey. The lock doesn't provide much protection when the bad guy is THE TEACHER!
Anyways, like I said I was being nice about it and gave her the state website where you can see the violations the day cares have had in detail etc. Well her cousin comes on and tells me I'm trying to start a fight and rain on her parade. Umm no bitch, Im trying to make sure she is informed. Having worked in Houston in several day cares, it's fucking scary to see the inside. You can't jsut walk in see kids having fun and think it's all good. Guess what, it's easy for the director to go "hey we have a tour. act right" and suddenly they are the best thing going. Same with when state comes to visit. UUGGHH. It just drives me crazy.
