I would pay $70 more...that one looks like it's built better!

i'd get the cheaper one, and if you want the see-saw type swing or something, just purchase that separately. i'll tell you what though, we had a wooden swingset that was one of the cheaper ones, and the wood wasn't very strong. we had to use 2x4s to reinforce them. of course, being tossed around by a tornado and a hurricane didn't help it.

The cheaper one is on sale at Kmart for $329 and the bottom one is at Walmart for $399. I'm really liking the Walmart one but I don't know if it's just the picture or what. They look like the same swing set basically. I wish I could see it in person instead of on the internet.

The slide on the second one looks stronger.
Personally, I'd buy a metal set. Like Scooch said, the wood construction, especially from walmart/k-mart isn't very good. The wood is rough and it just isn't as sturdy as you would think.
The metal set we had lasted 9 yrs, which is about the time when they no longer are interested in playing on the swing set.

those are both close to what we had. looks like the same board thickness. i'd just make sure you are able to cement it down really well.

Yeah we'd have it cemented down good. The other option. Is to build one like these but the hardware and accessories are like $250. Were going to price wood tonight.

i wouldnt necessarily get metal either unless its rust-proof. if you buy wood to build your own, make sure you get treated wood. be careful with that though, wear masks, its treated with arsenic.

I would research the brands and see which one holds up better.

I think those two are the same, just the slide is a bit different.

I think it's the slide, a few supports, the way the swings, etc, are attached and one of the play apparatus. I would try to check out if there is a difference in the quality of wood and read a lot of reviews.

Well, I plan on getting a wood swing set for the kids birthdays. They have all the indoor toys they could think of, are good on clothes, we're putting money in their bank accounts but I think that they would enjoy a swing set. Kellan - not so much right now but Karlie loves the swings and the slide. Between the money we have for their birthday from us and the grandparents we'll have enough to buy one. Not a $600 one, but something a little cheaper.
We checked into building our own and it was going to be over $500, with the same wood (sizes) that these have. And that doesn't include all the stuff that we don't know that we'll need. At least with these sets everything's included...and if it's not then a call to the manufacturer will take care of it.
I think I'll get one of these sets...most likely the cheaper one because I'm a tight ass and I'm okay with fixing little issues here and there like adding extra support if it needs it. It has less stars for ratings than the Walmart one, but most of the complaints are about the instructions. I guess you'll know if it's a piece of shit because I'll mostly likely rant about it haha.
