This past Saturday was the "paddle out" at the beach for my friend that committed suicide on Feb 4th. It was a nice service. About 150 people from past & present joined at the beach, about 20 paddled out (including his little girl on his surfboard) and spread his ashes into the ocean.
I can not believe how calm the ocean was, it was so windy that day. We used to spend almost every day during the summer & every day after school at that beach surfing with a huge group of friends. Only a couple from that original crowd weren't able to make it.
