Since when is manufactured fake chicken parts more healthy than and turkey and cheese sandwich? That has meat, dairy, and bread groups all in one.

If I was that mother I would cause such a ruckus! Like they would never wanna see my face again. That's frickin ridiculous. I could understand if the mom gave her a bag of Cheetos and THAT was all. But her lunch sounded well rounded.

“When home-packed lunches do not include all of the required items, child care providers must supplement them with the missing ones,” the Journal reports.
What was missing out of her lunch? Mystery meat nuggets??

I don't see anything wrong with her packed lunch at all. That's pretty much what the kids took to school for years, plus maybe a cookie.
I'd be pissed if someone fed my kid those fake nuggets, especially Jules. That crap has nitrates in it and she couldn't have those at all. (Jules had real turkey or chicken, not the processed lunch meats)

Id be angry. Sure sometimes we do processed but it's rare, I usually make popcorn chicken at home just by breading and frying diced chicken breast, so if someone else took it upon themselves to feed that to my child when I already packed a lunch, heads would probably roll.

I'd be pissed. Jojo's lunch is almost always pbj, carrots or apple or clementine, yogurt or a cookie or chips and apple juice. To me (and him) that's fine. Plus his breakfast always includes a fruit and dinner always has atleast 1 veggie.
The only defense for them is that its a government paid program and "nutrition" is a big part of that. If they require X amount fruit/veggie and X amount whole grain, no cips or candy, then parents should abide by that. Beggars choosers and all.

The only thing missing is vegetables. I don't see how chicken nuggets fixes that. Although French fries are considered a veggie for schools so might as well count the potato chips!
