I'm shocked about how much it takes to be in sports out in town. We moved from Pendleton back to Lejeune in July. DD has always played with Youth Sports in CP and it was $25 to play and it came with a jersey, socks and they provide a ball. You pay for pics and usually $5-15 for an after season party. Just to play out in town here it was $55 to play plus you have to buy 2 jerseys that total to about $60, pay for pics, bring your own ball, purchase socks, and end of season party. I'm having a sticker shock moment for sure!

That's how it was at home when I was growing up. I was happily surprised to see CL doing it for $25.

They way it's looking it's going to be $300+ after it's all said and done. I'm just really cheap. I won't even turn my heat up because I fear my light bill. LOL

Oldest plays baseball. His personal equipment/items (socks, cleats, pants) cost me, on average $300, not including any registration fees - he plays HS, American Legion and Babe Ruth.
Forget about when he needs a new glove or bat. His gloves are usually $150 and bats usually run $250. I told him he wasn't getting a bat this year - they keep changing the bat rules and I wasn't going to invest in one that would only be good for a year.

Get used to it, if they stick with it it's totally worth it.
Dh refs American Legion, and high school ball so his protective gear is around 300+ for baseball, then there's basketball which is uniforms and good shoes.
I know I bought a fastpitch bat one year on sale for 125.00, they always needed new cleats, then lacrosse in high school meant a new stick thingy every year at 100.00, plus money for away games and weekend long tournaments.
I think I just figured out why I'm not broke anymore, I'm not buying a sporting goods store every year!!

I think sending him to college will be cheaper than supporting his baseball habit!
Thankfully, we're very good friends with the owner of an indoor batting/pitching facility. Oldest can go in there free of charge, any time he wants.
He's been spending at least 4 nights a week there!
