Maybe the cousin was letting everyone know, she wasn't going to send out invitations to people she knew couldn't attend, so they shouldn't be offended if they don't get one.
She probably isn't planning to send invitations to people, just as a courtesy.
Like for instance, Grandma is in a nursing home and is bed ridden. Obviously, she won't be able to attend, but proper ettiquette says she should get one anyway.

Her mom is the one who takes care of grannie full time.
Some of the family isn't on her facebook, she didn't bother sending them anything or even making a phone call. She bitched that they "didn't show up and never even sent a gift."
She's 20 months behind on her wedding Thank You cards, and is now 6 months behind on her baby shower Thank You cards. Oh, she sent the baby shower invites out to everybody near and far, so we could all hook her up with her baby registry!! (And yes she threw her own baby shower)
Now she's on her mom to buy her a decent camera "and not one of those $100.00 pieces of crap. Summer is only going to be a baby for a little while and I need it to take pictures of her." Included in the post was a link for one of those really pricey multi lens type cameras............
That one is just a greedy one.

Go to the graduation. Screw the mom & all her ridiculous BS. The gift registry included in the invites & 3 parties in one day..... tacky. People know how to ask hosts/family/friends what the bride wants & how to search various stores for registries.

LOL, it's not a contest, his family frequently just blows my mind with the stuff they do. I should start writing this stuff down and make it into a book. I keep teasing Dh that it must be the water they drink.
Maureen, with both your kids, that's totally understandable. I only say it in a derogatory way as this girl brags about all her friends but NONE of them threw her a shower. She's 25 and lives in the family's hometown, too.
Someone, just because they send you a registry doesn't mean you have to buy anything from it. That would mean you put some time and effort into selecting something for her. Simply send a "regrets" note, mention you won't be at the wedding either and enclose a check with Wedding Gift written in the notes line. Three minutes of your time, tops. (Which is probably 2 1/2 minutes more than she's worth anyway!!)

I'm definitely waiting until the wedding happens to send something. Nobody thought he'd ever marry her. I'm not speculating that she did it on purpose, I don't know about that, but she did think that having his kid would tie him down. Well this is his 4th baby mamma, oldest being a teenager. She's 30 and he's in his 40s and hasn't married any of his children's mothers. I don't know how many engagements she's on but it's at least several and the last wasn't long before she got pregnant. Neither have a good track record.

My husband's cousin is throwing herself a baby shower for her 3rd child. She is registered on Amazon and ranked her registry items #1-whatever in order of how important they are to her. The worst part is that the only thing that the baby will get any enjoyment out of (a jumperoo) is ranked last. She wants a damn $45 owl shaped humidifier more.
She already has most of the crap she is registered for, she just wants the new edition. For example, New Years Eve another cousin let her baby sleep in this stroller that reclined all the way back. I found out it belongs to crazy pregnant cousin and when the cousin using it offered it back she said not to worry about it. However, a $200 Britax stroller is #4 on her list and she is raving about how it reclines all the way back.
Also, she wanted a girl (her first 2 are boys), so she harassed another cousin who just had a baby girl and was begging her to give her all the baby's clothes so that she wouldn't have to buy anything. When she found out that this baby was a boy too, she sends my husband a text saying "it's a boy. Give me your clothes." Cousin with a baby girl hasn't heard from her since she found out the gender.
NOT TO MENTION this girl was told by her entire family that she should not have a baby right now because they are totally broke. She got mad at them and had her IUD taken out anyway. She posted on facebook that they couldn't afford Christmas presents for their children and if her friends could purchase some gifts or send them money she would be eternally grateful. Then she got herself a Kindle Fire for Christmas.
This girl really pisses me off.
Rant over.
