We adopted a Black Lab a couple months ago. She won my heart but JESUS CHRIST if she doesn't quit chewing up the kids toys I am going to kill her. She has toys, but she chews up all the kid's wooden toys.
ETA: I'm not really going to kill her. She's just driving me fucking insane.

Nala does that sometimes. Just the wooden ones. Bring her a pile of sticks inside, see if that helps.

Labs chew, ours loved leather, specifically my expensive Justins' or the Ariats. Then he discovered the kids stuffed animals are so much fun too!!
Find a way to separate the dog from the area the kids toys are in, we just used baby gates or one of those larger fenced enclosure things. I'll leave it to you to decide who/what goes inside the enclosure, LOL!

I have a big gate that separates the kitchen and living room so that Kellan wont go in there and eat dog food. Wtf child? I'll have to get a regular door one for the toy room. It's ridiculous! Sometimes he'll eat little people. LOL, isn't that what those toys are called? Usually it's wood puzzle pieces, but the last two days he's been chewing on Kellan's wood train. I'm pissssed. I have no idea what I was thinking getting another dog. She drives me nuts. LOL, she is great with the kids though. It's just this chewing...and licking everything 24/7 that is driving me mad.

You could sacrifice a few cheapy toys and cover them in bitter Apple stuff. That could stop it.

How much daily exercise is it getting? Labs need a LOT of physical activity.

They love to swim too. If you have a lake or something around and it's not a cold day you could take her. My parents lab used to go swim in the Frio River with us when we were kids. It was funny cause he was so fat and sometimes he would get caught in a current and we had to swim after him. He loved it though.

Our old neighbors had a chocolate lab. I loved that dog. They used to take him to the beach to swim on weekends, he was always so happy when they got home, LOL.

You need to keep everything off the floor for a long time. Our lab ate plenty of shoes and toys at first. We learner to keep them put away. Now he wont mess with shoes but on occasion he'll get a toy. Our fault for leaving it out.

We finally got our lab to stop eating shoes and toys, (or we got better at putting everything away) and then we got the puppies. Had to start ALLLLL over again with the Lab as he thought their teething toys made awesome chew toys for him!!

She probably doesn't get as much exercise as she should. we walk her around town and then play with her in the backyard as long as it's not freezing outside. She hates the cold. Their toys are picked up (for the most part) the toys she chews on aren't the ones that are out. It's always the wood ones, I'm just going to have to go through and give them away probably. Just now, she went over to the toy chest and dug out a wooden toy. I corrected her and she put it down. But geesh, I understand that she's still learning what she can and can't do but man, I'm frustrated!

Oh and she has come a LONG way. I know it takes time but she is a really good dog overall.
