So today I had an interview (preschool)... (this is NOT my second interview with the school district thats another job) this one just came out of the blue the other day
ANYWAY
my interview today went well on my part - however the lady interviewing me (who would be my immediate superior) was really under-whelming and basically made me not really WANT to work there EVER. It appeared she did not take any pride in personal appearance (no make up, sloppy dresser, etc) she also seemed borderline rude and never once smiled - she had a constant scowl on her face ....
After meeting her I would actually not even be comfortable having my CHILD attend their center because she comes off very unapproachable. Not exactly the kind of person you want to drop your child off to every day ...
I know I am making some snap judgments about her but she really kind of made me feel ... uncomfortable. I am very confident in my skills and experience but just she REALLY rubbed me the wrong way.
Anyone have a similar experience or thoughts?

Maybe she was just having a bad day?
What was the vibe at the school? Sometimes, when there is a wretched administrator, it rubs off on the rest of the staff (assuming you interviewed with the "principal" of the pre-school.

I checked out a pre-school in Swansboro. After 5 minutes, I knew I would not be sending Luke there.
Go with your gut.

^^that If you get a bad feeling about her, it's probably for a reason.

Is she a teacher there or the director/supervisor/boss?
I can see being put off by her attitude, but her style/dress? No. I'd rather see preschool teachers an staff in sweat and tshirts than slacks and blouses!
JoJo's preK teacher (who I LOVED) was always wearing older lady capris and tshirts and APRONS, and she always had mascara on her eyelids. She looked like she might have gotten ready in the dark. She was GREAT!

Thanks - I think Im gonna go with the gut - there were two ladies at the desk when I got there, one was REALLY friendly - she was a teacher and we chatted a bit - the other lady standing there, whom I am assuming was some kind of office assistant, looked like me showing up was inconvenient to the NOTHING she was doing.
The lady I interviewed with didnt remember me but I had met her when we first moved to the area because I was seeking employment (I didnt expect her to remember me) - at the time they didnt have an opening
She was kind of the same then but not to the degree I experienced her today - obviously I was with her for a bit longer today than the previous encounter.

lol at SPEC our girls wore jeans and scrub tops - but if they looked like they just threw it on after questionable night out with a mound of tangled hair and some questionable left over eyeshadow we spoke with them about professionalism - when I was the Assistant Director/Director of MAF there we had to wear dress clothes and be presentable ... I would go as far as to say this woman was not presentable and didnt make the center look professional
