How long has this been going on? Have they xrayed your head/sinus cavities? If this happens frequently, you could need endoscopic sinus surgery w/ turbinate reduction. Look up your nose, do your nostrils look closed off? I can circle it on the calendar every year for when I'm going to feel like this. It's always the last week of august/first week of september. EVERY YEAR up here. I didn't have any allergies at all in NC. I haven't looked up my nose, but the dr did yesterday and said that it looked like congestion and inflammation. I used to go to an allergy specialist up here but we don't have insurance so I can't afford to do that now.

i had horrible allergies/snot blockages when i was a teen. i would go into the bathroom and just wash my face/splash water with water as hot as i could stand. then blow snot rockets. sometimes they'd get stuck and you have to pull. i know, this is fucking nasty, but it really helps. one time i did it and a giant glob came out of my sinus cavity. it felt like i was yanking my brain out through my nose but i could breathe afterwards.

Are you on zyrtec? If not, you can get the generic @ Sam's club super cheap. That, with sudafed (the real stuff you have to sign for @ the Rx counter) daily will help. Do you use nasal spray? If so, be careful with that. After 3 days don't use anymore or it will have a rebound effect & it will be nasty.

I've used Zyrtex and sudafed already, used the whole box and it didn't help. I was using the Afrin, but only for the 3 days like it says on the box.
The dr. told me to use Flonase, sudafed and mucinex. so thats what I'm doing now.

Do you like spicy food? Maybe if you ate something hot enough to make your nose run? lol DH always tells me that he's going to take me through the gas chamber.

Do you like spicy food? Maybe if you ate something hot enough to make your nose run? lol DH always tells me that he's going to take me through the gas chamber. Lol, I tried that a couple weeks ago but usually I can't handle very spicy foods. DH made buffalo chicken and I couldnt even eat half of it. I think my allergies/sinus infection has my taste bud messed up. My nose isn't AS stuffy today. Thank goodness. I just can't stand the constant pressure of when its completely stuffed. Like if you plug your nose and swallow...I can't handle that. I'm actually able to function today. I've knocked out two tests for school and one paper Now on to lunch time and I'm going to try to knock out another paper!!

I'm glad dh's mom got me used to spicy food. I used to be a big baby about it. The first time I ate dinner at her house when me and him were dating, she made this sauce and just the smell out of made me cough uncontrollably. LMAO I ran out of the house and I didn't stop for like 10 minutes.

I wish I liked more food than what I do. Karlie LOVES veggies. I made sure that she would when I fed her all kinds of yucky baby food. But she will get carrots and peas over ANYTHING on her plate. She'll eat pretty much anything.
