I just got a pit/boxer mix as of right now she is sweet as pie ,she rarely barks have yet to hear her growl,she is a giant snuggle bug. I have taken her for walks and she walks with me,doesn't bark at other dogs or people. At Petsmart she stayed by my side and again did not bark,growl or go after another dog or person.
I have been bitten and snapped at by my Poms several times. but I'm smart enough to know a pit/boxer mix has a bigger and harder bit and that if she goes after anyone,bites anyone,etc I'll put her down myself if need be. Hopefully that never happens.

A friend of mine just had her granddaughter bitten near her eye by a pit mix. Personally I don't even like my Dalmatians hanging out with my grandkids without someone RIGHT THERE at all times. They have never even growled at anyone in 10 years BUT I know the breed does have a tendency to not do well with young kids.
I don't think aggressive breeds (or others) should be re-homed if they have shown any aggression. Too many unknowns as to WHY the dog was really given up. People lie.

I don't like pits, I will never own one. I think you should have to have a license to own pits, german shepherds, rottweilers, etc.
Yeah, I know any dog can bite, but pits are the ones that cause the most damage. We had a min pin 7 years ago that latched onto my arm and wouldn't let go. If it'd been a pit, that would have been awful.

I owned a pit. He was awesome. Until he snapped. All dogs can snap. I no longer have pets because I like my children more than I like animals.
Certain dogs have more of a tendancy to snap, but does not mean they are going to. You never know what will happen to cause it either.

Own of my Poms bite Anna this morning not hard but it did leave a small mark,while she was rolling around on my bed playing with Kami the pit/boxer. I guess her was jealous or something.
