I really just hate my MIL

Yesterday was H's 16th birthday. ;D I can't believe my baby is 16!

She didn't want a celebration for her birthday. (She wants a big BBQ in a few weeks with some friends) She just wanted to have her boyfriend over & all of us go out to dinner. Her choice of restaurant was - Panda Express - a Chinese restaurant that is way better than your typical Chinese joint. It's about an hour away so we had to leave around 6 (H & boyfriend still had homework to do)

We had dinner at the inlaws on Sunday. Hadn't seen them since my birthday the beginning of Feb. We've been in kind of an argument and just keeping our distance. We thought maybe Sunday was their way of trying to reach out to us, and also a sort of birthday dinner for H. Grandfather gives her a present, the Uncle gives her a present. The inlaws presents just stayed on the credenza. I told MIL several times that H didn't want a party, didn't even want cake/cupcakes, etc.

So last night H gets a text from MIL that says her & grandpa would like to bring over H's presents. I tell her to tell them that it's fine but we're leaving in 15-20 mins to go to dinner, so to hurry. MIL gets here and goes straight into H's room & shuts the door. The dog is going nuts, so I grab a treat to take it to MIL to give to the dog. I try to open the door and it gets pushed back on me. I said "what's up with this, let me in" and H says "hold on a minute", so I walk off not thinking anything is up.

Almost get back to the back of the house when I hear H's bedroom door open. I turn around & MIL is bolting out of the house sobbing. Doesn't say word 1 to us. And I'm just standing there with a big ol' WTF?!

Go into H's room and ask her wth happened. She said MIL said to her "I don't know what's going on here. I don't know what's going on with our families. But I thought families always got together on important events to celebrate together" and then started bawling & ran out.

So now I'm PISSED. How dare this crazy bitch do this to my child on her birthday, on her 16th birthday. Now when she thinks back, that is what she's going to remember!

This morning she sent H a text that said "I'm sorry I cried yesterday. I'm sorry to be such a burden. I didn't mean to ruin your celebration. I don't know why your parents are trying to keep me out of your life." and H replied "Mom told you there was not going to be a celebration. I didn't have a party. We just went out to dinner at Panda Express and couldn't even sit together because the tables were so tiny." (Table tops were about the size of a food tray, it was ridiculous! And they were cemented into the floor so we couldn't even move them together)

Now she's trying to play victim. I am just floored.

I swear, if I didn't know better, I would swear we're related my inlaws pull the same shit all the time.

They called on oldest's birthday on the 11th. Youngest's birthday was the 16th - they didn't call until the 17th and he was next door sitting with the old lady who lives there.
They were annoyed that I gave them the cold shoulder on the phone. They tried to say FOL was sick and they were at the Dr's all day - um, you could have called in the evening. The kids are up until 10pm...

Can't wait to see if they're going to show up when oldest graduates HS next year.

We just found out that MIL was BRAGGING to certain family members that she skipped our wedding on purpose. The ONLY reason we got married in Texas was so his entire family could be at his wedding. We had wedding guests who went to a funeral for a uncle at 10 am, our wedding at 2 pm, and then drove to Austin from Houston for another wedding at 7 pm on the same day!!

I am now SOOOOOO freaking glad we never forgave that bitch or let her in our lives!

PRICELESS.... MIL's gift to Heather was a book titled "50 things every young woman should know - how to act, what to say, what to do"

Apparently not making an ass out of yourself on your granddaughter's birthday and making her special day all about you isn't listed in there. Perhaps I'll make an editorial correction and throw it through her front door.

Oh, another one.... don't give your step son on his wedding day an old phone bill in a card that states "paid". Especially when it has phone calls to skanky little girls that his now wife caught trying to talk him out of getting married. hmmmm

Here's a prize for you..... how about not hanging out & partying with a married man 10 years your senior, with 2 kids and breaking up their family? Apparently she missed THAT passage too!

ugh The more I think about it, the madder I get. N says just to ignore them and let them stew in their own pettiness but I don't want to. That bitch owes us an apology but I don't even think that will do it. I *insert scream* just argh, I can't even verbalize it much less type it out.

I used to consider myself lucky. That they seemed pretty normal, especially compared to other friends that I have heard about. Dang.... moving back after 20 years really opens your eyes. Who knew they could hide their crazy so well.

I haven't liked my MIL since she made Carsons baptism all about her. Wouldn't come to brunch because "my mom didn't say hi to her." Not true. My mom was directing people to where they needed to be and giving my uncle directions. My mom said hello and then my dad talked to them for 10 minutes before it started. My mom wasnt even in the same room. So after the baptism they just dont show up to brunch. J calls them and his dad starts chewing his ass. Then texts him and says you can thank the fat bitch (my mother) for making your mom cry. I saw the text. I didnt speak to them for awhile after that. His dad did apologize to me, but his mom never did. Not that it mattered at that point because the damage was done. They like to act like it never happened.
